Is the fabric knit or cotton?

BEST ANSWER: The fabric is 98% polyester and 2% spandex, but it is like a loose netting machine-made knit and sort of translucent. I think all those flowers make it look too busy. I wore it to my daughter's wedding in May and did get a lot of compliments.

Very thin semi-open weave knit. Not a lot of substance to it. Very drapey. Hope this helps!

The fabric is some sort of polyester/acrylic blend...it is a lacy fabric and is washable.
